Es sind jetzt schon zwei Monate seit dem letzten Eintrag vergangen. Dementsprechend ist es höchste Eisenbahn trotz Zeitmangels mal wieder ein Update zu posten, auch wenn ich nicht viele Bilder bieten kann.

Seit dem letzten Bericht sind wir natürlich umgezogen! Wir wohnen zwar auf einer Baustelle, aber Autumn hat es uns doch ziemlich gemütlich eingerichtet. Pünktlich zum Umzug ist das Gäste-Bad auch (fast) fertig geworden. Es fehlt noch eine Fensterbank, eine Tür und eine Duschwand. Außerdem warten wir seit inzwischen über einem Monat auf den Unterschrank für unseren Waschtisch. Aber wir wissen uns zu helfen. Statt Tür gibt es momentan einen Vorhang, statt Duschwand einen Duschvorhang und statt Unterschrank ein Provisorium, das ich zusammengezimmert habe. Wir haben also ein funktionierendes Badezimmer. 

Die Elektriker waren natürlich auch pünktlich da und haben den Schaltschrank mit den wichtigsten Leitungen in Betrieb genommen. Damit funktionierte auch schon ein Teil des Smart-Homes, wir können über unsere tollen Glastaster Licht schalten. 

Zwischenzeitlich haben wir im OG bereits alle Außenrollos samt Führungsschienen installiert. In den Abendstunden vor dem Schlafen habe ich mich so weit in die Programmiersoftware für unser Smart-Home eingearbeitet, dass wir auch diese über unsere Glastaster auf- und zufahren können. Bei den Temperaturen macht das einen ganz schönen Unterschied!

Leider haben wir in der Woche vor dem Umzug "auf's falsche Pferd gesetzt". Uns wurden Trockenbauer aus der Umgebung empfohlen, die wir angeheuert haben, um das Gästezimmer fertig zu verspachteln, damit auch dieses zum Umzug bezugsfertig wäre. Leider haben die SO schlecht gearbeitet, dass ich hier von vorn anfangen musste. Wir schlafen momentan also noch da, wo später einmal das Wohnzimmer sein wird.

Zwischenzeitlich hat sich herausgestellt, dass unser Bauunternehmer beim Einbau der Wassertanks unsere Telefonleitung mit dem Bagger gekappt hat. Die ist inzwischen aber repariert und damit konnte ich auch anfangen unser Haus-Netzwerk aufzubauen. Weiter als am Router das WLAN einzustellen bin ich vorher noch nie gegangen, das war also auch ganz interessant.

Seit diesem Wochenende ist die Decke im Esszimmer nivelliert und mit OSB-Platten eingedeckt, so dass uns die Dämmung zumindest auf dieser Seite nicht mehr herunterrieselt. Eigentlich haben die Arbeiten für die Außenrollos im EG absolute Priorität, damit an der Fassade weitergearbeitet werden kann, aber am Sonntag darf man draußen ja keinen Lärm machen und beim Regen auf dem Gerüst herumzuturnen ist auch nicht gerade sinnvoll. Bei Gelegenheit wird diese Arbeit dann in Küche und Flur fortgesetzt.

Thema Küche: Die besteht momentan aus unserem Grill, einer Mikrowelle und dem Kühlschrank. Funktioniert aber auch ganz gut und wird ja nicht ewig so bleiben. Ofen und Kochfeld liegen ja schon herum.

Es gibt aktuell drei große Prioritäten, die nach und nach abgearbeitet werden müssen, bevor es dann Raum für Raum drinnen weitergehen kann:

1. Außenrollos, damit Fassade und Dach endlich abgeschlossen werden können

2. Decke im EG (zumindest mit OSB) schließen

3. Dachterrasse abdichten bis zum Herbst

Wenn diese drei Punkte abgeschlossen sind, müssen wir uns für die weiteren Arbeiten nicht mehr um das Wetter kümmern.

Da wir nicht mehr zwischen der Wohnung und der Baustelle pendeln habe ich nun keine Möglichkeit mehr die Arbeitstage zu zählen, ich muss mir ab sofort also andere Überschriften einfallen lassen.

Day 355 and following

It has been a full two months since the last post. Therefore it is high time for an update, even though time is rare and I don't have a lot of pictures to offer.

Since the last update we moved! We are still living on a construction site, but Autumn was able to make it comfy and turned it into a home as far as it is possible. Just in time for our move the guest bathroom was (almost) finished. It's just missing a door, a glass shower wall and a window sill. We are also waiting for more than 5 weeks for the vanity cabinet. But we have learned to make things work. Instead of a door we have a curtain. Instead of the shower wall we have a shower curtain and instead of the vanity I put something together, that holds the sink and faucet just fine. So we do have a working bathroom.

Our electricians made sure that we also had the most important power lines up and working in time for our move. So we had parts of the smart home operational and were able to switch lights on and off with our pretty new switches.

Since then we have also installed the sunblinds at the upstairs windows and before going to bed I have learned how to work with the programming software for our smarthome, so I was able to set them up. So our fancy new switches no longer just control lights, but also allow us to close and open the blinds, which makes quite a difference with the current temperatures.

Unfortunately we had bad luck with some handymen that were recommended to us. We hired them to finish the plaster in the guest bedroom, so we would have that room ready to move in as well. However, their work was so bad that I had to start over. Therefore we still sleep in what will one day be the living room.

We also learned that the contractor, who put in the water tanks in the front yard, killed our landline with his excavator. That was fixed surprisingly fast though, so I was also able to setup our home network. As I had never ventured further into this field than setting up Wi-Fi on the router, this was a very interesting task as well.

As of this weekend the ceiling in the dining room is levelled and covered with plywood, so at least on that site the insulation isn't raining down on us anymore. Actually working on the sunblinds for the ground floor has absolute priority, but as we're not allowed to make noise on a Sunday, we were working on the inside. When there's time we will continue that job in the kitchen and hallway.

Speaking of kitchen: Our kitchen consists of our grill, a microwave and the fridge. Not pretty, but functional and it won't be that way forever. The oven and stove are already lying around.

For now we have three big priorities though:

1. Sunblinds, so that facade and roof can finally be finished.

2. ceilling on ground floor has to be closed up (at least with plywood)

3. roof top terrace has to be sealed before fall

Once these three things are done we don't have to worry about weather anymore and can finish one room after another.

As we no longer commute between the appartment and the house, I have no way of counting the days we work on the house, so I will have to come up with different titles...
